Back-to-School PENCIL COUNTDOWN and a collection of IDEAS to start the school year!

Our family still has two more weeks of summer (hooray!) so I'll be back to some summertime posting after this post!   

We interrupt this summer to bring you a BACK TO SCHOOL COUNTDOWN and a collection of back to school ideas! I am a lover of summertime.  I wish it would last much longer!   Hanging out with my boys every single day, kicking back in our own home sweet home is my favorite.  BUT, the back to school season is pretty sweet too.  It kicks a comfortable routine into our home, breathing a bit of peace into the daily living. 

Back to order,
back to peaceful routine,
back to neat clothes and combed hair,
back to lot of learning all day long,
back to SCHOOL.

This year I made a BACK TO SCHOOL COUNTDOWN, tracking the days left until school starts!  It is a super easy countdown.  I tied different pencils onto a long string and hung it up.  Each day the boys remove a brand new pencil and put it in their backpack!  

I have a hidden note on JUST ONE day.  They're a lil curious to see what the wound up note reads.  It is surprise day, the day we go shopping for school supplies and new shoes.

 I will be giving the boys these pencils on their first day.

This pencil countdown can be amped up with extra notes tied on, or by using all sorts of creative pencils!  I have a small collection of fun pencils.
