Outstanding in the Field DREAMIN'

Awhile ago as I was browsing one of my favorite blogs, Inspired By Charm,  I discovered a gem: Outstanding in the Field, a restaurant without walls! The Outstanding in the Field Bus travels to incredible destinations and serves local, fresh food on artfully designed long tables.

Their mission is...
"to re-connect diners to the land and the origins of their food,
and to honor the local farmers and
food artisans who cultivate it."

Jim Denevan is the creator of Outstanding in the Field.  He is a remarkably unique and talented artist.  He is called "the maker of moments"... and that is EXACTLY what I stand for and always try to promote on MooreMinutes.

This discovery moved me, it awakened every part of passion within me and made me feel alive.  My profile on my blog says it best:  I am passionate about the beauty of life.  I love deeply, feel deeply, and live deeply.

This event encompasses the culture of humanity in nature.  It frames beauty.  Experiencing treasured moments gives energy, it is what fuels a heart and gives passion to the tomorrows.  Outstanding in the Field honors the simplicity of our earth and applauds true beauty.

Their signature style of long tables in rows and curves...

Each event takes place on a ranch, at sea, a farm, or winery.  The food is locally selected, fresh and whole foods. Everything you eat celebrates the local resources, and is prepared by an accomplished chef.  The meal is a dance with nature and a culinary masterpiece.

The extra exciting news is that Chris and I get to attend an Outstanding in the Field dinner this summer! I am literally counting the days. Dreams do come true!  To say that I am over the moon is an understatement.  I will be sharing a follow up and photos after we return.   This will be the most incredible picnic I've ever been on, an evening of art in motion.

 Unforgettable moments
that can't be duplicated
are treasures to
stash in our souls for always.
(All photos used in this post are from Outstanding in the Field and are not my own)

Visit the Outstanding in the Field website
to see when their Bus will be traveling to destinations near you.
You can view their complete event schedule line up for 2011.
If you've already been to a diner, please share!
I'm soaking up everything I can about this!

The fine print fun stuff: The government makes me say that I was compensated for this post.  However my thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

That looks so incredibly fun! This kind of reminds me - I've dreamed of going to Le Dîner en Blanc in Paris...something about dining outdoors in a large group...so enthralling and tres chic!

As for the Outstanding in the Field I wonder though...how conducive those long tables would be for facilitating conversations?

Enjoy!

That looks hopelessly fun. I hope you have a great time...
And I can't show my daughter that table setting at the beach - she, at 12, is making noises of having her wedding at the beach and I've been "Oh that's not possible, you're crazy" and if she sees that I'll never hear the end of it LOL.
Thank you for sharing, Lisa. I'd never heard about it...

Sounds wonderful, absolutely wonderful. It is a wonderful idea. I would support it whole-heartedly except the cost. I would 100 to 150 for two but not 180 to 220 per person. I will have to dream about it until I hit the lotto ! Ha! I, however, can't wait to read and see the pictures you post from this unique experience. Enjoy every moment of it!! I think you will truly enjoy each and every momen!!
