Home Sweet Home Christmas Tour 2013

Wow, this is my 5th year to do a virtual Christmas home tour on my blog!  Christmastime is my very favorite.  I appreciate how we all pull in, nurturing togetherness and embracing home.  I love soft, cozy, feel-goods.  And that's what the holiday season does for us. :)

This year's tour is more simple for a couple reasons.  I haven't been blogging as often, and you all have seen most of the decor in previous years, like my gingerbread kitchen, !

Welcome to our Christmas Home 2013!

We brought our lil blue home from the tree farm and gave her a home in the corner.

Our family had such an incredibly fun time at the tree farm this year and we hope to make it an annual tradition!  After we brought our adorable lil blue spruce home, the five of us had a cozy tree-decorating night.

Cameron pulled out the Christmas Almanac and read up on tips for caring for a live tree while Chris strung the sparkly white lights.

White lights, pinecones, origami stars, and button garland for this lil blue.

This year's mantel is filled with lots of candles and lots of snowflakes!  These are my *very loved* straw snowflakes that I've used in various places during Christmases past.

Live greens that smell so good!

Cozy glows

I started a neutrals stocking collection and will continue to add to it.  The baby one is from one of my childhood best friends.  The one in the center is one I knit.  The button one is my newest!  Chris surprised me with it to add to my collection.

Our nativity with the giant star my main squeeze made for me from backyard sticks.

Fresh greens and bells at the bottom of the stairs

Our boys are full of extra life and wide eyes during the holidays.  It makes this mama's heart so happy!

The boys always get full control over the upstairs.  Each of them gets a tree in their own room.  They each have personal ornament collections and they decorate their trees and their entire rooms.  When they are finished, they always give Chris and me a special tour of all three rooms.  It is so fun to see the creative ways they transform upstairs!

 Titus' tree in his room.
He made the popsicle stick star a few years ago and always uses it as his topper.

Seeing how Cameron set up his reindeer this year made me laugh.
They set the reindeer up differently each year and I LOVE it!

As always, I have holiday books scattered all throughout the house.  This wagon sit by the front door and holds some of our favorites.  We also keep a basket of mittens and hats by the front door as quick reminders to bundle up before heading outside.

This sign from a couple years ago makes my heart smile.

Nestled up in our china hutch is a keepsake Christmas decoration I had when I was a little girl.

Big, soft cozy blankets are EVERYWHERE in our house during the cold winter months.

Highlights of red during the Christmas season!
This is the vintage vending machine that my Dad restored for me as a gift last Christmas.

Candles cuddled where spring flowers used to grow

Holiday breakfasts

More live greens and fresh winter fruit as our table centerpiece.

Sparkles of perfect bows in a row on the office bookshelf

The focus of this year's decor is simply enjoyment.
The goal for each decoration placed
was to promote feelings of nostalgia,
warmth, and festive light.

My desire is for each one of my loves to know they have a place that gives
the assurance and security of the comforts of HOME.

I want a place of quiet rest that calms
bad days
and
hurting spirits

And I want a place that encourages
growth, creativity,
and confidence.

May you each have a place to call HOME
this season!

You perfectly accomplished your goal of "wanting to promote feelings of nostalgia, warmth, and festive light". Walking into our house makes me feel all of those things, as well as being surrounded by peaceful excitement. Well done, Lisa Moore <3

Beautiful decor, Lisa! I love your ideas and that you are able to execute them. :) I hope the blue spruce wasn't too painful to decorate- those needles are sharp!
