Some MAJOR weight on my finger

Ummm, so I'm a bit hyper and still bouncing off the walls, driving everyone crazy about my latest LOVE. You know those nauseating people who brag and gush and go on and on ? Well, that's me.

As most of you know, Chris and I just celebrated our 10th anniversary! It was exciting and a pretty big deal in our little life. AND....Chris got me a NEW, sparkly, bright, massively huge {slight exaggeration} diamond ring for a way to honor the milestone. All the work of putting up with that crazy boy (my husband) deserves a BIGGER diamond, right?

Quality photo compliments of my mobile phone, haha

My first wedding diamond was 1/2 carat but had all the special ratings to make a gorgeous diamond. I will always treasure it and I hope to now put that original diamond in a necklace.

But.....!! My new ring is  2 carats and I am SO EXCITED. It is brilliantly perfect and I'm in love. Jewelry is VERY difficult to capture in photos...grrr....We are getting a custom band/mounting made for it with all the special touches I want. So, for now I have a traditional band to wear the diamond on while I wait. I'm a happy girl.

In summary, YES, I'm shallow.

And YES, diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend.

And being a lover of diamonds has never felt better!

Oh...and that Bible verse about "NOT" storing up my treasures on earth...I'm not. I plan on taking this with me...

Thanks for indulging my little Show N' Tell. My excitement was bubbling over!

LOL @ taking it with you! I just had my 15th anniversary and I still have my original 1/4 carat ring. Hmmmm...oh I guess that's because my husband deserves an award for putting up with ME all these years :D

It's gorgeous!Congratulations!

Oh, it's so beautiful! I would be showing it off too. I'm never putting my ring next to yours. I think mine's 1/5th carat. So sad, but it has been almost 30 great years and I'm finally getting my trip to Hawaii next week! And I like your long term plan with the ring. I'd take it with me too. I'm sure there's exceptions. LOL

Beautiful!!!! What a sweet thing to receive on your 10th! Congratulations!

When my husband gave me my engagement ring, he promised to "upgrade" it on our 10th - that's next year!! I'm not holding him to it, but as a lover of diamonds, like you, it would be nice!

What a generous and loving gift!
I lost my diamond several years ago on a soccer field (how appropriate for me! 22 years of cheering on the sidelines).I have never asked to have it replaced...actually, I rarely wear rings. But I think I could wear this!!!

Smiles,
Jane (artfully graced)

Two things. First of all I love you. You deserve that ring and so much more! Thank your for being mine!

Second of all is something for Jane. 22 years of cheering from the sidelines is certainly worthy of a new ring. Men are forgetful. It probably never crossed his mind that his girl needs a sign of his love on that finger. We actually appreciate a little reminder now and then.

SO special! My hubby has mentioned that he'd like to do the same for me one day. We married right out of college undergrad studies so while my ring is very brilliant, it's not quite what he wanted size-wise.

Our 10th ann. is also coming up this summer, but I'm not expecting an upgrade anytime soon as he JUST finished his PhD - YAY for NO MORE SCHOOL, but hello, student loans - boo! :)

Beautiful gift. My sweet hubby surprised me with a big diamond on my 40th birthday. I don't wear it as often as I should because my hands are not nearly as pretty as yours, but I do so admire a beautiful stone!
Blessings,

Jo

Congrats! I am so jealous. :) We also recently celebrated our 10th anniversary when we said we would get new wedding bands. My engagement rings is a karat, so I don't need more bling. But, I am in graduate school, so maybe for our 15th? :) BTW, Happy Anniversary!
