The most loved Christmas COOKIE: a December tradition

December traditions always include baking lots of cookies.  The boys have all agreed through the years that one of their favorite things about the holidays are the COOKIES. I make certain to ask each boy for special requests!

Sugar cookies are a tradition that we can't do without. ;)

The boys decorated the sugar cookies this year!

Sugar, Sugars!

We also made a longtime favorite, maple frosties, not pictured.

Kotah's favorites are chocolate crinkles.
He made them this year on his own and did a super job!

My Grandma jumped into our cookie baking fun too.
She makes yummy cookies and she made Almond Cream Cheese cookies with the boys.

Pretty, Christmasy, and delicious!

ALMOND CREAM CHEESE COOKIES

Ingredients

    • 1/2 cup butter
    • 1 (3 ounce) packages cream cheese
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
    • 1 cup flour
    • 2 teaspoons baking powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1 1/2 cups crisp rice cereal, slightly crushed
    • candied cherry

Directions

  1. Cream together butter, cream cheese, sugar, and almond extract until light.
  2. Mix together dry ingredients and add to butter mixture.
  3. Chill 1-2 hours.
  4. Shape into balls.
  5. Roll in cereal and place on ungreased baking sheet.
  6. Top each with a cherry.
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes at 350 degrees.
  8. Cool on racks

Each Christmas, I like to try a new recipe or two.
This year I tried cinnamon sugar cookies

simple, soft, cinnamon sugar
Mmm

Every year the boys and I find a QUICK treat to put together.
We've done the kisses and pretzels, the saltine toffee,
and this year we tried the Ritz crackers with Rolo candies, found on Pinterest.

These were okay, but I MUCH prefer all the homemade sugar treats.  ;)

I had to run and snap these pictures!
The boys were soooo cute
watching and waiting for their cookies to finish baking.

THESE are the EXACT moments that make my life absolutely happy.
They only lasted a second or ten -- but truly! -- It will last for always in my memory.

Well!  That is a wrap on our cookie collection for 2014.

I want to add piles of cookies to our collection
and would love to know your very favorites!

The most conventional type of cooking is open air fire cooking, here is nice article about it http://designrfix.com/web-design/growth-hack-successful-freelance-career-web-design For families it is especially well fitting, it is an action which exhibits an open door for wonderful nighttimes and trips.
