LAKE POWELL vaction PART 2: Playful Peace under the Sun and Stars

This is a two part blog post.  Please see PART 1 for the beginning

We officially have a sumer tradition of coming HOME on a houseboat to incredible Lake Powell at the end of summer.  Chris and I were born and raised on the shores of this lake and it has our whole hearts.  Coming home to this place fills our gaps and puts absolute peace in our souls.

Being on the lake connects our hearts like a lil puzzle.  Our story starts here and this trip always binds us,  pulling us to center.

I was also able to check something off my wishlist on this vacation!  I have wanted to try stand up paddleboarding for awhile.  However, I passed up a couple opportunities to do it because I wanted my first time to be someone breathtakingly beautiful.  Lake Powell was the ideal fit.  This was my complete highlight of the vacation!!

The sun fall's warm colors splashed on the water, encircling my spirit with solace.

Cameron was able to do a sunset paddleboard ride also!

Lake Powell is a place like no other.  True story.  Powerful canyon walls that stretch straight to the sky.  Clean, clear water that fills the red canyons.  It is the original minimalist design, straight from nature.

Lake Powell holds beautiful secrets around each bend, waiting to be discovered...

Like perfectly-formed holes in rocks, bridges, and waterfalls.

Discovering this waterfall was a vacation highlight.  Hans, our host and driver, navigated our big boat through tight canyon spaces, winding our way back through the quiet waters.  At the very end, the waterfall treasure was waiting for us.

Surprise!

So much to see!  We spent a lot of time riding smoothly on top of the boat, pushing every single gorgeous sight we could spy into our minds.

Lake Powell is the most peaceful place on earth.  It just is.

And Titus has always been called our peaceful boy.  He is being silly here but he really does bring peace wherever he goes!

PEACE was the constant theme of our time away.  One of the BEST things about staying on a houseboat is dragging beds upstairs and sleeping under the bare night, under the open stars.  It is glorious.  And it is something I'll hold with me for the rest of my life.

Chris setting up our bed for our night under the stars.

We spent much time relaxing under the sun as well as the stars!

Kotah and I were lying on chairs together as the boat made its way uplake.  I turned to see him in this adorable position. :)

Kickback,
relax.
Soak in the art,
nature's modern art.

Beautiful
boys
in the
sun.

My middle one,
Kotah

Titus,
my youngest

My oldest,
Cameron Skyler

I love them.
tons.

And I am pretty darn crazy about this guy too!
He's my other big favorite.

If I could pick anywhere
in this great big-little world
to escape
for spirit renewal
and peaceful pour overs,
it would be
Lake Powell,
our heart's home.

Well, I just figured out what my Lake Powell post will be . . . I'm going to just hi-jack yours. Today I finally started dumping my photos onto my computer and NONE of them were as good as yours ! But, I will send them as soon as they are uploaded into a Shutterfly folder.
This is a beautiful post and I SO enjoyed reliving those few days there. You will receive an 'official' thank you for the towels. I LOVE THEM ! Thank you.
