Our home and fireplace mantel jazzed up for AUTUMN

I'm a fall girl for sure.  These months from now through Christmas make me giddy like a little girl.  I thrive on all things COZY.  I appreciate the warmth inside and the crisp outside.  I really start to get my homemaker on during this season with extra nutmeg and cinnamon!

Our home is made over for autumn with lots of cozy warmth and symbols of harvest season.

The kids helped too.  As soon as I pulled out the fall decor box, Dakotah dove into it and carried his found treasures outside.  He pulled out a color appropriate big water cooler and decorated for fall!

Cameron got creative and labeled our outside dining chairs by writing letters on leaves to spell our names.

I collected these aspen leaves on a recent weekend getaway we made to Telluride, Colorado.

A collection of pumpkin minis in a farmhouse basket.

We have an old antique cart for our coffee table, topped with a collection of pumpkins and squash on top of an Amish quilt piece.

Our mantel has the most beautifully colored pumpkins:
cream with veins of soft greys and greens.
It's all so peaceful.

Don't forget to plant your spring bulbs!
Mine are in the bag, ready to go in the ground...

Trading bright colors in
for the burnt colors of autumn.

Books are always part of my home sweet home decor.
I picked a handful that had fall colors to display.

Most of you know that I keep childrens' books within reach.  We gathered some fall stories and filled our bucket with them.

You'll be seeing a lot of yarn now!
I'm brand new at KNITTING!
I finally decided that I was old enough to learn how to knit. {wink}

Pretty fall colors...
soon to be fingerless gloves...

I made this super snuggly hat for the colder months.

I think big yarn and chunky knits are super fun!  I used some super sized needles and made this bulky grey table runner.

A rustic wood box loaded with nuts...

I found this antique pastry cutter at a local basket weaver's shop.  The weaver wove a basket into the old pastry cutter.  How creative is that?!

My Mom surprised me with a gorgeous bouquet of fresh AUTUMN flowers the other day. Most of you know that fresh cut flowers are a top favorite of mine!

Acorns are my decor of choice for fall.  I think they're simply adorable and I use them in decor as often as possible.

That's a full circle on our home sweet home.  Coming up in the next post, I'll be sharing about a pretty project that is very easy to create: Pressed Leaf Garland.

For man, autumn is a time of harvest, of gathering together. For nature, it is a time of sowing, of scattering abroad.

I love all the creativity going on. You're so lucky to have such an imaginative family! I love what you've done with the fireplace. If you keep on top of things you may not have to call for chimney repairs.

Those pumpkins on your mantle are truly amazing! just perfect! I love acorns too, I just can't make myself go acorn hunting! Are you able to keep them year after year, or do they disintegrate or mold?
