A couple weeks back, I bought a half bushel of peaches; perfectly ripe! I didn't have time to make the peach jelly and the peach butter that I wanted to, but I blanched, cut up and froze the peaches so that I could do so later on. I'll have to give you the recipe so that you can make some too. No pectin involved! You just cut them up, throw them in a crock pot, throw in the spices and let them cook all day. Once they are done, you take a stick blender and run it all around until it's smooth. No kidding! It's THAT easy. I'll send it to you in the next day or so, so that you can use up your peaches. Aint' life just PEACHY!!
oh, those look so very good!! Thanks for sharing, not only did you get some great peaches, but you all had so much fun, too.
Lidy
ps. come over and have some French Tarts in the garden with me.
Ha ha! We've been enjoying the Palisade peaches recently too! We usually just wash them and eat them outright, but I've been known to slice one up and pour a little cream (1/2 n 1/2) over the top. Back in the days when I actually lived in Palisade, my sister and I made a peach pie that won first place at our church function. (With plenty of help from my mom of course!) I should get that recipe from her...
looks like a fun day out with fam! xo.
Drooling!!
Perfect for summer! The peaches look delish. =) Love all the pictures too.
Peaches must be the topic of the week! This is a fun post and it is always a blessing to me to see the joy you share with your extended family.
