our house cozied up for winter: a decorating post!

This is WINTER!  The season of ...

Sitting indian style in the corner of my couch,
macbook on my lap,
cup a tea by my sock-covered toes,
cuddled up with my main squeeze.

Cold, dark nights means lots of lazy time.
so there.

Inside our home sweet home
is a celebration of the winter months!

Thank you Brandi for our welcome bear. < 3

Traces of the holiday decor remain through the month of January:

white frosted
baby pinecones
into a circle wreath

Okay SO.
acorns are one of my FAV things to decorate with in the fall.
bold colors in the summer
fresh flowers in the spring
and pinecones are my FAV thing to decorate with in the winter.

Giant coney pine on one end
anthropologie sweater candles on the other

Pinecone pot with paperwhite bulbs!

Winter tucked into corners with shades of white yarn and ice skates

Baby blue miniature felted mittens hanging with long dipped candles

More mittens tucked into bathrooms...

My handmade soap obsession continues.  I will never go back to commercial, store bought soap.
Thank you to Sarah for making me a lifetime believer.  <3 nbsp="nbsp" p="p">

Finding my big wintertime soap order from
Sarah Lee Soaps on my doorstep was super exciting!

I was able to RE-fill my soap jar!
Choosing a new scent and different soap before showers is one of those lil life delights.

No dry skin this winter.

New cozy cozy winter socks!

And what else pairs with cozy winter socks?

Umm, cozy tea
of course.

Fresh, unique, looseleaf Teavana tea.
Nothing is better than this stuff.

My husband is the tea boy in our house.
He learned all about it so that he could make me tea since I don't do coffee.
SWEET-HEART!

Every dark, cozy winter night
he pulls out our tea basket and he
steeps up some warmth!

For Christmas he bought me a beautiful new tea set!
Happy girl. <3 p="p">

The handles are so
"classic tea perfect"
just looking at them makes you want to point that finger out

Snowy morning sunrise
calls for
hot tea
in
a
pretty
tea cup

oh and maybe a cup of fresh fruit too!

Our Christmas mantel is put away
and replaced with our clean and classic loves.

Because there is plenty of sunshine in the winter too!

And long nights with short days means...
evening puppet shows

And instead of running through the sprinklers at 8pm on a hot July night
the boys are snuggled inside READING.

The Magic Treehouse books are a huge hit in our home!

R & R by the fire

Green matchstick,
LOVE!

Maybe, maybe spending time knitting...

And certainly cuddling up with new books (thanks Mom!) and dreaming...

After rushed hours and short days:
sorting homework, packing lunches,
sorting laundry, and cleaning up messes
you'll find me just hanging out on these dark, cold nights
embracing the lazy, relaxed moments of winter.

It looks like you really love animals and nature designs based on the photos above. Your welcome display is really cute! I always see rugs with welcome note so that bear is really cool.
