Food and Fun of our FALL SEASON 2014

Oh fall.
Earthy spices of ginger, cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon sprinkle on all of our treats.
Pumpkin, apples, and maple flavor our days.
Chai lattes tickle our throats and the cups warm our hands.

Fall food gives us the best scents to warm our noses!

Fresh pumpkin loaf out of the oven.

Pumpkin seed and pomegranate wilted kale salad.

For the healthy lovers,

breakfast tostadas with homemade hummus

Homemade honey whole wheat bread

If you want your house to smell good,
don't light a candle,
bake bread.
It's one thousand times better.

Baking bread makes me feel most like I am home.

Maple Bran flake whole wheat muffins

Eating out with fruit and Nutella cinnamon french toast.

The top of the list, BEST meal of the season this year:
from my new favorite cookbook, KEEPERS.

Oh yum.

I made a big batch of these pumpkin pillows for some festive fall outings.
I added lemon and orange zest to give the pumpkin a fresh pump!

Fresh popped corn on our stovetop,
just right for those lazy family days.

When you're feeling over pumpkin and apples,
try something new for autumn!
Dates!
Date cake with hot toffee sauce and fresh whipped cream.
Dramatic dessert.

Caramel Chai,
sooooo good!

This was a much loved quiet fall day.
We have a secret picnic spot behind our house at this table.
Today was a walk about
with soup and sandwich, and tea,
 takeout lunch
just.me.

Oh November!
Bring me some pie, rolls,
mashed potatoes, and stuffing too!
November's grand finale!

These rich, golden, earthy, colors
will soon change to red and white and green,
the colors of December,

backyard sunsets

with the flip of a calendar,
magic will be on it's way.

Farewell fall and pumpkins and leaf flutters.
