Holiday Happenings: the fun of Christmas in December 2013

lego piece from their Christmas countdown calendar this year

Christmas is my favorite.  It just is.  I like the sparkly lights, the smell of baking, cuddling by candlelight, the music, and the flood of memories of Christmases past.

I delight in the excited energy of my boys this time of year.  Their giant eyes and bouncing feet make me feel content.  There is almost nothing better for a mama than to see her littles full of joy.

When they weren't helping me in the kitchen, they were Christmas crafting!

Early in the season, my mom surprised them with a painting day out at the Palette.
Extra fun!

It was exciting to see their personalities come out with their individual art.

I love it!

I made Christmas veggie sticks for their classroom school parties.

Find a mini cookie cutter and cut shapes out of zucchini and yellow squash!

The boys did an amazing job,
 leaving us all smiles,
at their Christmas program at school!

One weekend, I made them special holiday eggs.
...a lil variation on the classic egg in a hole.

White Chocolate truffle snowmen
from our favorite Colorado candy store
...Mouse's Chocolates in Ouray!

Most of my December days are spent  BAKING.

Fresh dinner rolls for our holiday feasts!

I made cranberry candy cane bread to enjoy on Christmas morning.

We enjoyed a handful of traditions too.  One of our favorites is piling in the car in our jammies, with blankets and pillows, turning on the Christmas music and looking at lights.  We always stop for milkshakes along the way.

Christmas lunch date with my girls!  I just love these two so much.

This year, instead of spread out throughout the month, we had THREE Christmas parties in ONE night!

Party 1

Party 2

Party 3

Oh yes.  Carrie did.
Cotton candy Santa beard.

 Presents are still getting wrapped.
We'll be doing a bit of prepping until the very last second!

From our family to yours,
have yourself a merry little
CHRISTMAS.

I SO treasure EVERY comment. I am not able to respond individually to each one anymore, although I TRULY wish I could! It is hard for me to say that because I love hearing from everyone and sharing back. I still try my best, but it may take awhile! :)

ALSO, I am unable to link up to new link up parties due to time constraints. Thank you for your understanding.

Thank you for EACH lovely note! <3 I appreciate YOU.
