Color It Pretty

Color Sunday is a day up on the Grand Mesa in Colorado to celebrate Fall's vibrant annual makeover. We took part by taking my parent's and brother's UTVs on a {long} mountain trail.

Kotah is predictably the first one in and ready to go! He loves this sort of outing!

The guys are mapping it out...
I should mention they didn't estimate distance well on this {long} ride. ;)

Our trail was perfectly outlined with the dancing Aspens.

We even had to cross the river a few times...
It felt like I was shooting a scene from Little House on the Prairie. ;)

Skyler is digging the ride

We saw many darling cows!
If you know me well you may think I'm saying this with sarcasm, but I think I'm serious this time!

Finding our lunch spot

This works: they made a table on this rock right by the river...
Subway sandwiches and my Mom's incredible homemade Apple Cake.

Sometimes we were a bit too wide
(don't you just hate that?...story of my life *wink*)

We had a lot of stretching breaks sprinkled along the way
...And on those breaks, Titus got lost in his own world playing trucks.

We arrived back at the parking lot at dusk. See that little moon playing peek-a-boo!
It was a full day's ride!

-Do you have any Fall traditions in your area that are celebrated?

-Have you ever got in on the action?

Because a little bird
once told me
that every day is a gift
so we should use it wisely...

Darling Cows? Who really wrote this post? ;) For the record, I never even looked at the map. I left it up to the other guys to plan and navigate. Now about those snowmobiles wife....

What a totally fun trip. We really wanted to go atving this summer when we were out in Colorado. The photos are so pretty. I love the color in the trees. Our trees haven't turned yet, but I can't wait till they do.
Our fall tradition is to go to several pumpkin patches and have a ball.
Have a wonderful day!

Your ride looks like it was lots of fun. All the rocks, trees, dirt, water -- Heaven for little boys. That sounds like a neat tradition. This year we're starting a new fall tradition. A couple months ago we handed out small bags of pumpkin seeds to our closest neighbors, and challenged them to a neighborhood pumpkin growing contest. It's been grand fun as we're all eyeing each other's gardens, trying to see whose pumpkins look the best. We're going to have a little celebration and judging day soon, where we'll have prizes for most orange pumpkin, roundest pumpkin, etc. Maybe this will become an annual event :)

awww.... everything fall reminds me of how much I miss New England at this time of year. We would go apple picking every fall and buy homemade cheese and apple cider doughnuts (the best thing ever) We would go to the county fair and buy cute crafts and eat clam chowder... Made everything warm and fuzzy. Not to mention the GORGEOUS colors!! sigh....

How fun! The UTV's look like a blast to go on a little trip with.
There were so many people that I know that mentioned here or there that they went up there Sunday, that it's a wonder I didn't run into any of them. Of course, we avoided the hugely populated areas, like P-horn...

Both my SIL have ATVs. I have never rode more than a few feet on them. If they were going on such a lovely outing as your, I might.

I am the kind of guy who loves to try radical stuff. Right now I am manufacturing my own pv panels. I'm making it all by myself without the help of my men. I'm utilizing the net as the only path to acheive this. I encountered a really brilliant site that explains how to contruct solar panels and wind generators. The web site explains all the steps required to solar panel construction.

I am not really sure about how precise the data given there is. If some people over here who have xp with these things can have a look and give your feedback in the thread it will be grand and I would highly appreciate it, cause I extremely take an interest in solar panel construction.

Thanks for reading this. You guys are the best.
