A peek in our home in The Sweetest Month

celebrate the good in life.
the innocent stuff.
the wholesome.
the warm fuzzies of forever love.

Happy Valentine's 2011.

Breakfast for two! Whole wheat pancakes with homemade blueberry buttermilk syrup provides just enough sweetness to start the day.

For the syrup I quickly combined butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, buttermilk, and vanilla and cooked on the stovetop. You can add cooked blueberries to it as well!

It's all about taking 10 seconds to add details to the little things. Fruit is beautiful! Serving fruit in a pretty dish instead of just opening the plastic lid is a super fast way to make something super special.

Some for him, some for her.

Mmm

Just little hints of the
month of hearts around the house....

I'm still really into lavender colors to celebrate Valentine's Day!

The playful heart my Mom crocheted...

Festive food, a little bit of decor, and of course some projects with the boys!

...because a little bird told me that they won't stay this way forever. So I'm breathing in every single excited laugh, every tiny little jump as they create something new, and every wide smile as each new holiday approaches.

Love is an overused word and that's a good thing! Squeeze the loves in your life. Use Valentine's Day to add some sweetness to this winter month.

  2. What a sweet post! You are definitely teaching your men that women love all these little loving touches. They will one day shower their ladies with sweetness.(Their dad has a lot to do with this, too! Your boys are seeing, firsthand, how to LOVE.)

Unfortunately, V-day got a little lost in our home...probably because it was WG's birthday. But the loving lessons were still learned...and all the guys are true romantics everyday of the year.
    Sweet hugs,
    Jane (artfully graced)

  7. I love those pancakes, with the powedered sugar. We also love doing all kinds of projects for Valentines day. My favorite project this year was cones covered in conversation hearts.
    Blessings!

  8. Hi Lisa
Right back at you...You make me want to visit Colorado! But then, I would have to buy a coat, boots, etc. (Actually, I just bought some boots to wear in Cleveland in April...outdoor rehearsal dinner in the woods...and COLD to this FL girl!

I hope you enjoy the salad!!! It's really good! (I did cheat this time...I used some leftover dressing from Olive Garden. That works, too!)

I SO treasure EVERY comment. I am not able to respond individually to each one anymore, although I TRULY wish I could! It is hard for me to say that because I love hearing from everyone and sharing back. I still try my best, but it may take awhile! :)

ALSO, I am unable to link up to new link up parties due to time constraints. Thank you for your understanding.

Thank you for EACH lovely note! <3 I appreciate YOU.
