Meal of the Moment: Open Faced Italian Sandwiches

I have another MEAL OF THE MOMENT for all you lovelies. To read about why I first started this topic and what it's all about click here. The main point is to find creative ways to use up leftover foods.

This time I needed to use up some leftover chicken breasts that we BBQ'd last night. They were Italian Marinated Chicken breasts. There are trillions of ways to use up leftover chicken, so this should be an easy one! However, I wanted to focus on something SIMPLE and PAINLESS...you can throw this together faster than waiting in line at Taco Bell.

OPEN FACED ITALIAN SANDWICHES

You'll need Cheese Kaiser Rolls

And Mozzarella slices

And Pizza Sauce

And of course our chicken sliced into smaller pieces

Spread the sauce over the sliced bread. Always put the cheese on top of the meat so the chicken won't dry out. Broil on low with the oven door open until cheese bubbles.

TIP: Buy the freshest bakery bread you can find, this makes ALL the difference! Your sandwiches will definitely taste better with super fresh bread.

I served it with a tall glass of extra cold milk and salad, topped with my favorite homemade blue cheese dressing (which I talked about here). I hope that satisfies your tastes and for more MEAL OF THE MOMENT posts click here.

AirBrush Your Face Girls

Have you ever wished you could photoshop your face (or entire beautiful-licious body for that matter!) before you go out on a date night with your love, or a movie on the town with the girls, or that important company event? Just point and click, right? And it would be perfect. Our modern day, tech age hasn't quite advanced enough to move the airbrushing beyond the glossy paper just yet....

BUT GIRLS, I have some news that is sweeter than a strawberry dipped in chocolate...

There are products out there that prime your face. Painting always turns out better when you use primer, and your face is the same! These face primers fill in all those little lines and pores. They even out your texture and tone, making your face feel like silk.

NOW THE FUN PART...when you use your make-up, it applies perfectly and your reflection in the mirror will look perfect. (welllll, maybe not perfect, but pretty close).

I posted my TOP PICKS below. You can even buy some with SPF to stay safe in the sun.

Try it...because we all want to be beautiful.

I apologize for the photo quality. My camera washes everything out. :(

CHECK IT! 50th Birthday Party

(Pictured above: My Dad in his Dragster with my brother, Kyle...back in the day!)

My Dad is a fan of black and white racing checks. He has been for as long as I can remember. The straight lines that create the black and white square pattern is an instant attraction to him. I'm sure it's related to his passion for racing. He has raced through the last 50 years quite literally. His racing history includes: motorcycles, four wheelers, snowmobiles, boats, (even RC boats!), demolition derbies, cars, and his favorite: drag racing. The inside of his dragster trailer was actually appointed with his big black and white checkers. Sooo, it was only appropriate that the theme of his 50th party would be CHECKS. He is a Prime Example of a man who has truly lived life to the fullest and provided a stable, solid home for his family at the same time.

Here is the PARTY provided by Yours Truly

50 BALLOONS!
The Centerpiece with Marshmallows, and Black and White M&Ms

My Mom made these adorable Checker Cookie Bites

Even the inside of the cake was checkered!

My Snack Tray with Popcorn and ONLY Black and White Treats: Oreos and Tootsie Rolls

The Photo Memory Board

Was this before or after Daddy let us suck helium??
Happy 50th Birthday Dad! LOVE YOU
My Dad has lived the most exciting life so far of ANYONE I personally know!

He inspires us all to REACH OUT and Take Life for a Ride!
So go...LIVE YOU LIFE.

Try a BOOK List

I recently mentioned the importance of reading and how much I thrive on it. I have old weathered books who are my companions in life. (that sounds a little nerdy, but hey...just sayin) They're an extension of me because in those pages I formed my foundations, chose my styles, grounded my values, created boundaries, discovered worldviews, learned how to be better and do better, and sometimes just had great escapes. The bookshelf that stands in my office is ME. A stranger can graze through those books, or scan the titles and know who I am without ever setting eyes on me. The bookshelf is my PERSONAL BLUEPRINT. It mirrors my identity and shows the roads I've traveled so far in life.

Every summer I scribble a BOOK LIST of good reads. If you like the satisfaction of making and reaching goals (or simply crossing things off a list) you should try this! It works to WRITE out a book list! You will read more this way guaranteed. What's on your book list? I am always looking for a good book, so I'm interested.
