Peppermint Pleasures And Baby Blue Snowflakes

Red and White
rolled and twirled
into a delightful holiday treat!

This inspiration for these was found while looking at a STACK of holiday magazines on a cold but cozy day in Barnes and Noble. It's so fun to find something new to try! I have traditional cookie favorites that I make every year but each year I like to add one new thing. I made a cream cheese sugar cookie dough with homemade peppermint frosting smashed in the middle.

I wrapped them individually because
the terrible thing about anything minty is that
if you couple it with anything else,
EVERYTHING will taste like mint!

These are excellent to display on a cute tray
for entertaining
so you can send your guests home
with a tiny treat.

OR...
they work well for a snack of homemade hot chocolate and peppermint cookies
after the family has been out building a snowman!

Speaking of mints,
the boys and I made this little Christmas candy jar using an old raisin box and hot gluing the mints on.
This is a perfect little exercise for little ones to practice
counting, adding, and subtracting.

I topped cream cheese sugars with the lightest of blue icing
and itty bitty snowballs

Peppermint and snowflakes,
sugar and frosting,
all just a part of the holiday's charm.

  21. Welcome to Foodie Friday! Your cookies look like they could be in a magazine. I have a snowflake cookie cutter but I'm so hesitant about the icing part (I have a history of mishaps) that I've been procrastinating. The counting jar is adorable. I'll have to remember that for my granddaughter.
    Sweet wishes,

  22. Another AMAZING and wonderful idea!!
Do you have a great idea for a hostess gift that's simple yet makes a statement?
I want something that she can use or leave out all year, not just during holiday times.
    Thanks!

  31. Those peppermint cookies are just too cute in their little wrappers. Great idea to keep them separate so their flavor doesn't transfer. Love the pale blue snowflakes as well...I was going for that look too, but mine ended up super blue!
