Glitter Gold Holiday Mantel

It's not often that glitter and gold
get center stage in my home sweet home.

I'm the kind of girl that decorates with cozy, cottage-y, eclectic, and a collection of adored pieces that connect to my heart.

I typically don't do formal, elegant home decor. But a Christmastime Mantel is my exception this year!

Why is the fireplace mantel the primary territory for holiday decorating? Maybe because of all those magical stories of St. Nick whooshing down the chimney to fill long, whimsical stocking all hung in a row over the fire...

Or maybe because the fireplace is such an imperative part of a long, cold winter. I do know that it is a fun little spot to adorn with holiday goodness!

These hanging ornaments are the recently popular
faux silver mercury,
which have been making their way into home decor trends.
They mysteriously take on the color of what surrounds them.

Endless waves of ribbon,
which you can never have too much of during the holidays!

A vase overflowing with shiny and satin gold ornaments
sits on top of my all-time favorite classic,

Gone With the Wind.
And even my 5 year old can tell us what
the Greatest Christmas gift of all is:

Sweet Jesus who welcomes each tender heart,
always with His strong arms extended,
ready to comfort and sustain the weary travelers.

Sweet Jesus who multiplies the joy of the happy ones
with His ever-present life wisdom
and gentle care.
